Not Yet Spring

Much of the pasture is clear, but the ground is soft and muddy. It's trail building season. CQ and I headed out on Sunday to get a jump on a new addition to Reaper's Ridge.

This is just above the "waterfall"on Reaper's. The trail turns up the valley and works it's way back toward the Trail Ridge.

CQ working the chainsaw on an extremely dense section.

Still plenty of ice in the shade.

Some sections of cow trail are like bobsled runs . . . literally.

Water is flowing, with plenty more on the way. The riding will still be a while off.

The only way to get a vehicle into the pasture is to take the high road and enter early in the day before the ground softens.
